Is You'r WHY Big Enough?

Updated: 5 days ago

Have you ever asked yourself "why" you want to achieve a goal or desire? Many of us have desires without understanding where that desire is stemming from. The most successful people have deeply rooted why’s that give them relentless motivation in turning their dreams into reality.

I hear it all the time: “I want to lose weight”, “I want to be wealthy”, “I want a relationship”, “I want to start a family”. Anytime someone comes to me expressing their desires and wanting help in making them a reality I always start by asking them “why”?

Why do you want to lose weight? Why do you want to become wealthy? Why do you want to be in a relationship? Most of the time we have goals and aspirations but don't understand why we have them in the first place. Unconscious desires don't often come into fruition.

Here's a little run down of the process of setting goals and making your desires a reality. It is not enough to say "I want to be able to wear those jeans again". The initial desire is definitely the first step and the foundation in setting a new goal. The second step is, you guessed it, asking yourself why? The third step is creating a solid plan of action for yourself to attain the desire.

If you can sit with yourself and dig deep into why you want to achieve something, you are way more likely to actually achieve it. Why is this? Fully understanding your driving force behind a desire is what's going to help you achieve it even when you feel like giving up. It's not longer a superficial, unconscious desire, it's become a greater purpose.

There's typically a deeper reason for wanting to lose weight besides fitting into those jeans again. It’s often the feeling of confidence, freedom, happiness, and self love that is desired.

Ask yourself "why do I want to fit into those jeans again?" Your answer might be, "so I can feel good about myself again, the way I did before I gained this weight". Okay, now we're getting somewhere!

Ask yourself how you felt before the weight gain?

What was your quality of life like?

Did you do different things that you wouldn't do now, like wear a bikini or a tight dress or be sexually intimate with a partner or date new people?

Was this a happier time in your life?

Did you feel more freedom, peace, and happiness within yourself?

What caused you to gain weight in the first place?

How will achieving this goal make your life better?

I’m simply using this scenario as an example, it's one I dealt with a lot when I was a personal trainer and still do today as a Holistic Lifestyle Coach. No matter what your own unique desires and goals are, identifying the why is essential in achieving it.

Discovering you'r why takes honesty and sometimes it's not easy to get so raw and vulnerable with yourself. It can often bring up a lot of emotional turmoil, old wounds, and traumas. Identifying them is the first step in healing them.

When you're able to identify the true root reason behind a desire you have a powerful driving force. That's what is going to make you successful. On a deeper level, it’s about reconnecting with your soul and dropping the ego. The ego wants to fit into those jeans again but the soul wants to feel free, happy, and at peace within its physical vessel. Assure that your desires are coming from a place of self empowerment and love, that your aren't seeking outside fulfillment or validation.

Take the time to self reflect, it will be worth it. Grab a journal and get real with yourself. Find your big WHY. Wake up every morning with your WHY in the forefront of your heart and mind. Make a game plan on how you are going to make you'r desires your reality.

You might need to hire a coach, a trainer, invest in a course, etc. It might take some trial and error, you might have some setbacks, or make mistakes, it's all an important part of the journey so don't fret or give up. You will need to dedicate time, energy, and often money into yourself in order to make your dreams a reality. It’s all about the energy exchange of it all and knowing that you and your desires are worth investing into! We all have our own personal desires for a reason, they are divine and you’d be doing yourself and the world a disservice by not attaining them.

If your WHY is big enough, you can do absolutely anything and everything you want to 💕

Wishing you a beautiful day 🌿

Much Love,
