Shots For Better Health
Updated: 3 hours ago
Elevating our health is always top priority.
At the end of the day all we have is our health and this one body we were given in this lifetime. We need to take care of it as best as possible, it is in fact the only home we ever truly have.
A must for prioritizing health is a nourishing diet. The reality is that most people do not get the recommended amounts of fruits and veggies per day (6-8 cups). That means we are not getting nearly enough of the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants we need for our bodies to function optimally.
Lack of adequate vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants negatively affects our immune systems, cell reproduction, mental health, hair, skin, and nail health, optical health, heart health, and so much more.
A nutritious diet filled with foods close to the earth is vital for optimal health. Lots of clean water and exercise are just as important and also non negotiable.
One of my favorite ways to get a boost of nutrients each day is taking a shot of juiced ginger, turmeric, and lemon. It's something so small and easy that I can do each day to boost my health and natural immunity.
Here’s how I make my daily health shots...
Ginger, Turmeric, Lemon Juice Shot For Health & Immunity
By the way, I make this in bulk for the week so that will be the recipe I’m giving you. You can reduce it if you’d like. It’s important to keep it refrigerated and consume in a week.
What you’ll need:
1 pound ginger root
1 pound turmeric
3 whole lemons (can use lemon juice)
Black pepper
Cinnamon
Sealable container (I use a mason jar)
Juicer or food processor
If you don't have a juicer or food processor I am linking the one that I have that I absolutely love! I've had other juicers in the past and this one is by far the best and has lasted me the longest!
How to prepare:
Prepare your juicer or food processor and jar.
Make sure to wash, peel, and break apart the ginger before juicing.
Next, wash and peel the turmeric while your machine has a rest because roots can be tough on the machines. Juice the turmeric when it’s prepared.
Last, peel and juice the lemons.
Done with the machine. Mix in a teaspoon of black pepper and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Shake well and refrigerate.
When you're ready to drink, pour yourself about 2 ounces worth. I literally use a shot glass, it’s the perfect amount!
Now you know how to make the shot, I want to go over the health benefits of each ingredient!
