Cozy Simmer Pot Ritual

Updated: Dec 13, 2023

There are many layers to self care and wellness, a major one being how you take care of your living space. The whole experience of your living space directly correlates to mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.

Environmental wellness is a major pillar of overall health and wellbeing. Keeping your living space clean, organized, aesthetically pleasing, and smelling nice is an act of self love and a sacred ritual. It’s proven to…

  • Improve sleep quality. A clean home contributes to a clear, calm mind.

  • Improve air quality which improves allergy symptoms, quality of breathing, and lung and brain function.

  • Reduce stress and anxiety. When everything is kept clean, organized, and in its rightful place you don't have to worry about misplacing things, catching up on cleaning/organizing, or stressing about last minute company.

  • Boost immunity. When surfaces are kept sanitized (with holistic cleaners), dusting is done regularly, vacuuming and sweeping is kept up with, it reduces germs and environmental stressors that suppress the immune system.

  • Boost mood and happiness. A clean, organized home that matches your vibe creates a positive environment rather than a messy, chaotic, low vibrational one.

  • Provides a sense of pride and accomplishment. A clean and well put together space is mentally and emotionally satisfying and rewarding.

  • Improves productivity, energy, and focus. If your space is a cluttered mess, your mind is likely to be the same and vice versa.

Candles, room sprays, and wall plugs are often toxic and filled with nasty chemicals that have serious impacts on health including that of gut, brain, nervous system, endocrine, liver, skin, respiratory, reproductive, and immune system health. There is a beautifully holistic and fun way to create an aromatic experience in your home that is totally void of anything harmful…

Simmer pots!

Creating simmer pots has become one of my favorite little rituals to romance and create an uplifting experience for myself. It's a clean, non toxic, environmentally friendly, affordable, cozy, and aesthetically pleasing way to make your home smell amazing.

There are so many different combinations you can create with simmer pots, that's the whole fun of it! The recipe I'm going to be sharing with you is my top favorite simmer pot that I’ve crafted thus far as I personally love warm, woody, spice centered aromas.

Cozy Simmer Pot Recipe

What you’ll need:

  • A small to medium sized pot.

  • 3 dried orange slices (you can use fresh)

  • Balsam tree trimmings, a handful worth

  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 2 star anise

  • Cedar wood essential oil

How to prepare:

  • Grab your pot and add the orange slices, balsam, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves.

  • Fill the pot up with water and place on the stove over low-medium heat. You never want the water to boil, nothing more than a low simmer should occur.

  • Add about 10 drops of the cedar wood essential oil and let the natural fragrances fill your home.

  • The pot should last for hours but it’s a good idea to check on it from time to time. If you want to keep it going longer, continue to add more water. You can use the ingredients more than once, until they begin to lose their scent.

You can create endless concoctions that suit your personal taste. Add flowers, apples, cranberries, ginger, nutmeg, fennel, and any other spices, herbs, and essential oils you enjoy! These also make incredible gifts for any occasion!

Enhance your home, relax your mind, and elevate health with a beautiful simmer pot. Take care of yourself by taking care of your home in every way that you can, you deserve to feel and be well 🤎

Wishing you a beautiful day 🌿

Much Love,

Bellamy Ryder
